Our solution

Beyonder has created the next generation of eco-friendly and energy efficient batteries. Our battery technology is produced using ecological materials such as sawdust. The batteries are non-flammable, can be fully charged 8-10 minutes, and recharged up to 10 000 times. Thus, reducing the need for frequent replacement of batteries.

With our innovative and sustainable combination of raw materials and the absence of critical substances such as cobalt, this new cell has a great performance in terms of longevity, extreme temperature tolerance and high loading and unloading cycles.

Our patented battery technology is a better alternative to the use of conventional Li-ion batteries and solves challenges not addressed in today’s batteries in high-power applications. The application spectrum ranges from UPS applications (uninterruptible power source) over buffers for wind or solar parks and mobility applications with high start-up currents (ferries, buses, construction machinery, etc.).

Beyonder has created the next generation of eco-friendly and energy efficient battery cell. Our BePowered offers more than 10K cycles using 5C continuous charge/ discharge with 80% or more remaining capacity. With its wide depth of discharge (DoD) it allows utilization of the entire energy stored in the cell. This also corresponds to a wider voltage range requiring less cells to reach required system voltage, compared to traditional battery technology using a narrow state of charge (SoC) range.

BePowered product offer a continues 5C charge discharge capability corresponding to a 0–100% charged cell in only 10–12 minutes.

With a potential of 15C peak power it provides an excellent value proposition for applications such as regeneration and acceleration in mobility, frequency regulation and power backup.

Li-ion Capacitor

Beyonder´s Li-ion Capacitor (LiC) combines the capacitive cathode of a supercapacitor and the battery-type anode of Li-ion battery, optimising the benefits of each technology. Beyonder’s technology exploits the strength of Li-ion batteries and capacitors on cell level in a power battery cell. This provides a faster charge and higher power density than Li-ion batteries, and a significantly higher energy density than capacitors.

The LiC is non-flammable, and batteries with LiC cells can be fully charged in two minutes and recharged up to 100 000 times. The use of a wood-derived activated carbon cathode enables the LiC to operate at higher specific power.

Active carbon

Beyonder has developed a patented process of transforming sustainable forestry residue, namely sawdust from pine and spruce, into super-activated carbon.

The result is the world’s first true sustainable battery cell technology which will serve a broad range of industrial and utility needs and applications in the exponentially growing field of energy storage and battery technology. The use of a wood-derived activated carbon cathode enables the Li-ion Capacitor (LiC)  to operate at higher specific power, with greater durability compared to Li-ion batteries.
